How To Balance Motherhood And Working Full Time

Motherhood is a big part of many women’s lives. If you have been lucky enough to have kids, you need to ensure that you have the money to keep a roof over their heads. This can mean working and spending time away from them in order to make some money. Most of the time, this involves trying to juggle a million different things and dropping the ball sometimes. If you are struggling to balance the demands of motherhood and working, here are some suggestions to get you juggling those demands like a pro.

Working from home

If you have been able to work from home for the last year and a bit, you might have a good routine now that allows you to get your work completed without too many distractions. If you can, you might as well stay at home working. Not only does this allow you to do the school runs, but you also don’t have to worry about childcare. And, if your kids do take sick, you don’t have to worry about trying to arrange time off work, you can simply work from home around looking after the little ones.

If you think that you dropped the ball with homeschooling, you have several options available to you. The first is to allow the teachers to assess your kids and make sure that they haven’t fallen behind. If you are interested in teaching your kids (or other kids) you could look into How to become an online tutor. This can be a great idea if you feel that you have skills that will benefit other people’s children as well as your own. It is also a great way to work from home too. Make sure that you check out the options and see if this is something that can help you and your kids get the most out of homeschooling.

Get the kids involved

How much do your kids do around the house when it comes to chores? Not as much as you would like we are guessing. We don’t expect you to hand them the power hose to clean the garden but they could definitely help you out. Even something as simple as picking up their clothes or loading the dishwasher is better than nothing. Get the kids to lift up after themselves. It won’t take long for them to develop some good habits and be willing to help around the house a bit more. Not only will this help set them up with some life skills, but your own house will also look tidier and you won’t have to spend so much time running around after them.

What we do in a day is always changing and it can be hard to stay on top of it. Make sure that you have a schedule to help you cope with the daily demands. Having a schedule is great as you can stay on top of things, but it will ensure that you have plenty of spare time too. So, if you do find yourself with a sudden change, for example, your kids have to attend an after school activity, you have a buffer of spare time to help deal with the change of schedule. Make the most out of your day by knowing what you have to do and tackling it head-on. If you know you have a full day, you need to ensure that you have your to-do list ready to be ticked off and that you are focused.

If there is one thing that is underrated, it is getting a full night’s sleep. How many hours do you get a night? Probably not enough. This is where it all comes together. You need to rest in order to focus and make the most out of your day. IF you are tired, you will be distracted and will make mistakes, forget things, and generally have a harder time. Make sure that you make time to sleep. And make sure that your kids are getting enough rest too. This might mean saying “no” to some things and having to cut away unnecessary activities. Trust us, your body and mind will thank you for taking some time to recharge.

As you can see, there are a few ways that you make the most of your day and juggle your responsibilities. We hope that you find these suggestions useful and can use them to make the most out of your working day for you and your kids.
